Living Earth Institute

Mission Statement

We are an education centre focused on constructing local infrastructural systems in an ecologically conscientious way and encouraging self-sufficiency through hands-on experience, skill building workshops and community initiated projects.

Living Earth Institute Programs

  • Building The Village Program - Living Earth Institute's professionally lead, hands-on workshops will focus on completing community designed projects that function in balance with the surrounding ecology. Some examples of workshops include (natural building, alternative energy systems, sustainable water management, food production, permaculture design).

  • Eco-Seminars - Semi-annual conferences focus on topics surrounding progressive solutions for people and the planet. Over the course of a few days, an array of invited speakers will share ideas, present powerful opportunities and inspire positive change.

  • Learn To Farm - Practical courses and tactile learning engaging students to participate in ongoing skill development. Learn To Farm will offer introductory work as well as extensive on-farm learning opportunities working with the land.

Living Earth Institute's Goals
  • Develop educational tours, workshops and seminars to communicate and share our experiences and link with similar local and global efforts.

  • Build community designed homes, guest and gathering facilities.

  • Establish an organic stewardship of the land to provide our own and others' food while maintaining a healthy balance of continued sustainability between our gardens and the surrounding ecosystem.
